当维利.贝克尔于1965年在汉堡创建他的小小的设计公司时。他,即作为船长,又作为船东,将他丰富的经验用于船舶操纵上。从此,贝克尔的经营理念: 将丰富的专业知识应用到生产技术上成熟的舵,使舵达到最佳的操纵性. 此后, 贝克尔公司作了大量的研究和开发工作。同时,贝克尔开发一套舵机,与高性能舵相匹配。
1971年,贝克尔公司合并了科特公司,著名科特导流罩舵的发明人的更广泛的经验和优秀的设计成果,与贝克尔原有的能力相结合,给造船界提供了各种船型高效操纵的解决办法。
2002年,贝克尔引入了自动物流系统,扩大了产品范围。2002年3月,西林舵的合并,创建了英国办事处。
2003年设立了中国代表处,及公司总部移到新的办公楼, 贝克尔的世界范围的网络联系加强了。
今天,我们是各种型号,各种尺寸,高性能舵的市场领导者。全球范围内均有我们自己的代表处和20几个代理公司。

Today, Becker Marine Systems is market leader for high performance rudders of all kind of profiles and all sizes.
A total of 70 team members form the Becker offices in Germany, the UK and China. 20 agencies around the world complete our global design, sales and service network.
In 2002 Becker Marine Systems widened its product range with the introduction of the Automated Material Handling System.
In March 2003 the Schilling Rudder business was acquired, thus allowing the creation of a dedicated UK office.
The Becker worldwide network has been further enhanced in 2003 with the establishment of a China office, together with the relocation of the Company Headquarters to purpose built offices in Hamburg.
